Executive Director
Position Description
Interfaith Caregivers provides services that encourage, support and enrich
independent living for elderly and disabled members of the community. The
Executive Director manages Interfaith Caregivers’ services and operations,
including administrative, volunteer and client activities, and assists
with financial management, fundraising and public relations. The Executive
Director reports to Interfaith Caregivers’ Board of Directors and
with the Board, is responsible for ensuring that Interfaith Caregivers
realizes its mission.
Duties
and Responsibilities:
- With the Board of Directors, establishes
short and long-term goals to achieve mission
- Plans, staffs, directs
and evaluates program services to meet goals
- Recommends
policies to the Board of Directors and administers approved policies
- Hires,
trains and supervises paid and volunteer staff
- Creates and maintains
best practices to attract, retain and recognize compassionate volunteers
- Manages
fiscal operations including budget development and authorization of
expenditures.
- Monitors the program’s financial health and
makes recommendations to the Finance/Fundraising Committee
and Board of Directors.
- Assists with the development, direction and evaluation
of fundraising activities including acquisition of new donors, corporate
support, special events and grants.
- With the Board of Directors, develops
and implements public relations and communication strategies to support
program goals and increase community awareness of program.
- Collaborates
with community groups to strengthen relationships with religious and
faith communities; ethnic/cultural entities; health and human service
providers; and business, education and neighborhood groups.
- Monitors
trends, legislation and regulations that are relevant to the program’s
mission and makes program and advocacy recommendations
to the board and its committees.
