President's
Message |
Dear Fellow Congregants,
This is my final article addressing you, the congregation of Ner Tamid, as your
President. It has been a distinct honor to serve as the President for the last two years.
This is my second stint as President as I was also the second President of Ner Tamid a
long time ago. So much has changed (for the better) from my first tenure-we now have
our own wonderful building and a larger group of committed members who share so
much of their time and abilities to help our community grow and thrive. I have said so
many times that we are like a family because we retain the closeness and connection that
only a small congregation can provide. On June 14th we will be having our Annual
Meeting and Rabbi’s Brunch-I urge you to attend this activity to be briefed on the status
of the congregation, meet the new officers and enjoy the Brunch with your fellow
members. Please continue to attend services to help us make a minion so we can
perform all necessary parts of the service. I am well aware that there are many
commitments and obligations that we all have that draw our time and attention away
from our spiritual needs. I urge you to set aside time, carve out space in your schedule to
nurture your Jewish soul. There is nothing that fills that place deep with-in all of us that
“qvells” when we raise our voices in song during services. May we all go from strength
to strength with our community at Ner Tamid.---Shalom, Tema Steele

Small Enough to Know You. Big Enough to Serve You.
Congregation Ner Tamid is a Conservative-Egalitarian Synagogue.
Established in 1991 by an active core group of strong, committed
families and individuals, our membership numbers approximately 50
families.
Our
name, “Ner Tamid” means
“Eternal Light” and that
has served as our beacon for over 10 years in a succession of temporary
locations where we worshipped together each Shabbat and on holidays.
Now we are proud to have our own permanent home in Cherry Hill where
we welcome all to join us.
Rabbi
Rabbi Paul Bender
We’re
very fortunate to have Rabbi Bender as our spiritual leader. He
is well known throughout the community for his excellent voice
that enhances our services. And he is a constant source of inspiration
and strength to all of us.
